Akademi Laut Malaysia (ALAM), also known as the Malaysian Maritime Academy, is the nation’s premier maritime training institution, dedicated to producing world-class seafarers and maritime professionals. Established in 1977 as the Malaysian Maritime Training Centre, it was later rebranded as ALAM in 1981 to reflect its growing role in maritime education and training. Strategically located in Melekek, Malacca, along the Straits of Malacca—one of the busiest shipping lanes in the world—ALAM provides students with direct exposure to the heart of global maritime trade.
Over the years, ALAM has developed strong partnerships with international shipping companies, industry regulators, and maritime organizations.
